 Match 15 - 3rd/4th Place Play-Off Katerina Kakni v Mark Witney Another hole went the way of a half with Par scores but then Mark dropped an uncharacteristic Double Bogey to let Katerina back in as she picked up her Par score. Match 16 – Accenture World Match Play FINAL Gavin Adam v Jorge Pedro Pell The next hole was halved with Par scores but then after the great start, Gavin dropped a surprise Double Bogey to let Jorge win a hole back. The match now dropped back to just 2 up in Gavin’s favour. Not the way Jorge wanted it but he would take it to get back into the match | |||||||||||||||

Match 15 - 3rd/4th Place Play-Off Katerina Kakni v Mark Witney There was no change in the next 4 holes from the front nine as Par scores and a Birdie each were picked up by both players. Match 16 – Accenture World Match Play FINAL Gavin Adam v Jorge Pedro Pell This match was turning into a “hum-dinger” as Jorge made 2 Birdies and Gavin also made 2 Birdies but they were staggered. Jorge won a hole with a Birdie, halved a hole with a Birdie and then Gavin won a hole with a Birdie, so as we reached the half-way point, the match moved back to 2 up in Gavin’s favour. | |||||||||||||||

Match 15 - 3rd/4th Place Play-Off Katerina Kakni v Mark Witney This was indeed a topsy turvy match as neither player was willing to let it go. Mark grabbed a Birdie for the hole win, then dropped another Double Bogey to lose the hole. Then it was Katerina’s turn to drop a Bogey which was followed by another Bogey from Mark as the match settled back to ALL SQUARE Both players seemed to be letting the pressure get to them as they dropped shots but up to now, they managed to get back into the match. Match 16 – Accenture World Match Play FINAL Gavin Adam v Jorge Pedro Pell Gavin was still looking strong as we started the back nine, as he grabbed another Birdie to win the hole and put more pressure onto Jorge as the match moved on to 2 up in favour of Gavin. Jorge was going to have to make some impression on this match otherwise he was going to get left behind | |||||||||||||||

Katerina remained solid but Mark dropped another 2 Bogeys to lose both holes and put himself in a tight situation. Match 16 – Accenture World Match Play FINAL Gavin Adam v Jorge Pedro Pell This was not looking good for Jorge as although he was steady and grabbed his Par score, it was not good enough for the hole as Gavin fired in a lovely Eagle to win another hole, extend his lead and pile the pressure onto Jorge. The match moved forward to 3 up in favour of Gavin and only 4 holes left to play. It was just about last chance saloon for Jorge | |||||||||||||||

Match 15 - 3rd/4th Place Play-Off Katerina Kakni v Mark Witney Mark could not control his game and dropped another Bogey as Katerina grabbed the match tightly and spurred on, she picked up another Birdie to win the hole and the match as the score was now a 3 & 1 WIN in her favour as the crowd showed their appreciation with loud cheers and applause. The two met in the middle to shake hands and acknowledge the support from the crowd before making their way back to the dressing rooms.  Match 16 – Accenture World Match Play FINAL Gavin Adam v Jorge Pedro Pell The experience of Gavin showed in the end as Jorge remained steady with a Par score, but that was never going to cut it as Gavin picked up another Birdie to win the hole and the match. It was a strong performance to match his good season as he moved the match on to a 4 & 3 WIN in his favour. The noise from the crowd was deafening as the players met in the middle of the green as Jorge could only congratulate his opponent for a faultless performance before they made their way to the Club House to prepare for the Closing ceremony and trophy presentation.  After another wonderful display of golf from both pairs and an exciting finish to the Final, which has finally been decided here at Blue Monster Golf Club by a strong victory performance ………. as GAVIN ADAM adds a 2nd title to his portfolio Many congratulations also to KATERINA KAKNI as winner in the 3rd/4th Place Play-Off but commiserations to JORGE PEDRO PELL and MARK WITNEY who were just beaten by the slightly better players on the day There is no doubt that both matches had the crowd extremely entertained and enthralled as we are going into the preparations for the forth coming event, THE RYDER CUP taking place at WENTWORTH, Surrey, United Kingdom It promises to be another 3 days of highly competitive and entertaining golf for the crowds to watch - its going to be exciting for sure so get yourself along to watch the fireworks Don’t miss it – very coming soon | |||||||||||||||
